This class is for puppies and dogs to learn basic skills – sit, down, stay, come, leash walking, leave it, wait, polite greetings. The curriculum is designed teach the basic skills and how to apply them to real life situations. I recommend that all dogs be in a harness for all training classes. These group classes give puppies and adult dogs a structured opportunity to learn basic skills in a social situation. For most of our dogs, listening at home is easy but out in the “real world” it is much more challenging. Dogs can only perform as well as their education and in each environment in which they learned to perform.

Due to the small size of this classroom, level one classes are only appropriate for dogs that are comfortable around strangers and other dogs.

Supplies needed for this class are, a four or six foot leash (non retractable), harness (no-pull recommended) and rewards. I strongly recommend a harness for this class. Look for a Freedom No-Pull Harness by 2Hounds Designs (my favorite:). Look for these supplies at Gigi & CO Pet Products, Farfel’s Farm, P.C.’s Pantry, Struttin’ Pup and Whole Pets. (If you carry these supplies and would like us to mention you on our website, please let us know.)
